Overview of the steps
- Create the user account using the Bridgeway Agent user template in the O365 Admin Portal
- Using Exchange Online PS, assign the user to the Agent address the book policy.
- Adjust the agent's user properties in Entra ID
Create the user account using the Bridgeway Agent user template in the O365 Admin Portal
Using the Bridgeway Agent user template to create the user account will assign the user the exchange online plan 1 and mobile & security license. It will also assign the user the title “Independent Agent”.
In O365 Admin portal > Active Users > User Templates
Select the Bridgeway Agent template.
Then fill out the user account information with the details we got in the request.
To help us identify and differentiate these agent user accounts from an internal employee user account; Agent usernames and primary email addresses need to be in the following format:
Firstname.lastname@bridgeway.io
Using Exchange Online PS, assign the user to the Agent address the book policy.
In a PowerShell window, connect to exchange online by running the below command:
Connect-exchangeonline
Assign the Agent GAL Address Book Policy by running the following command (replace DisplayName with the agent’s display name:
Set-Mailbox -Identity "DisplayName" -AddressBookPolicy "Agent GAL ABP"
Adjust the agent's user properties in Entra ID
In Entra ID, Locate the agent’s user account and go into their user properties.
Enter the following information under the agents “Job Information” properties tab:
Job Title: Independent Agent
Company name: Bridgeway Agent
Department: Agent Code
Employee Type: Independent Agent
Email Lance Stahl agent details such as login information and email addresses.
